Tweet! Tweet! April 2012

I'm not sure if Twitter is going to keep all my tweets forever and ever. Because they are often little snippets about my very glamorous and exciting daily life (and aren't good enough stories to make a blog post) with my family, I will preserve them on this blog monthly.

Competition

Papa is here,  and the girls go to their competitive extremes in his presence.  They fight, argue, sass, and bicker all in the name of Papa.  "Papa,  look at mmeeeeeee!" "No!  Look at meeee!"

Madison woke up at 2:30 am just so she could get her fill.  Poor Papa,  he is exhausted  and did not make her go back to her room. Sucker! !!

Ticket

Shhh, don't tell my dad, but I got a speeding ticket last week.

Zak and I were headed on a date night, and we were driving down a big beautiful newly constructed open road.  The speed limit was 35...seriously?  It should have been 70.  Thankfully, I was only going 49 when the motorcycle cop busted me from his little hide-y hole.

I've had a few speeding tickets in my life, so was planning on taking care of it this week by taking an online defensive driving course.  The ticket was just laying in my office on my desk as a reminder, and today I found that someone else had decided to take care of it for me:

It looks to me that Brooke has not yet decided if she plans to plead Guilty or No Contest.  I personally think she should dip into her college fund and hire a lawyer.

13 years

Thirteen years ago, I married this man.  He's still a kid at heart, and I'll love him forever.

Back blogging

For those of you who are really interested (which are basically family and friends who read my silly little blog), I did a little bit of back blogging in March and April.  I always hate to do that, but since this blog serves as my "baby book" for the Girls, I sorta try to keep things in order.

So, if you scroll down and around a bit, you will see some new pictures and videos.

Just to make it up to you....here's a new picture of me from my recent makeover:

I'm sexy and I know it.

Easter 2012

We celebrated Easter at the lake house again this year. Five years in a row!

Just after this video, Madison discovered some trash in our bin that provided "proof that there is no Easter Bunny." She had been questioning the reality of this mythical creature, much like she did of Santa in December. She rationalized that Santa uses magic, and that's why he can get his job done, but the Easter Bunny couldn't possibly hop around all night all over the world. Logical, that girl.

It was funny to see her find the Easter egg wrappers and empty candy packages in the trash. When she found it, she looked over at us (we saw this all happen), back to the trash, pulled out the empty bags, then looked at her Easter loot, then her jaw drops. We could practically see the wheels turning in her head. She takes a deep breathe and said, "You guys did this? All of this Easter stuff is from you? ...I KNEW IT!"

Zak and I couldn't hold our laughter and had to do one of those turn around, cover your mouth, type maneuvers so she couldn't see us. That failed. We just shushed her so she wouldn't ruin it all for her little sister, and explained privately about the Easter Bunny.

One of the gifts that the "Easter Bunny" left were some high powered water guns. After the candy was consumed, and the sugar high was in full effect, the pretty Easter dresses came off, and the water fight started.  I didn't buy a gun for myself, so just had to run.

There a several things I love about this next video.  Mostly, it just perfectly captures the personalities of both Madison and Brooke.  Maddie is all serious developing strict rules for a new game she is making up as she goes along, and getting frustrated that Brooke isn't having any of it, and annoyed with me for discouraging disruption.    If you listen carefully, you can hear a bit of Madison's Spanish accent at the beginning when she says "Cascarones" (confetti filled eggs).  Brooke is her usual wild woman self, barely clothed and in Crocs, un-brushed hair, conspiring, tricking, running and laughing.

Do I have chocolate on my face?

"Mom, don't you dare share that picture with anyone if I have chocolate on my face!"

Um, I'm allergic to cantaloupe, but I'll eat this anyway. "Mom, can I have some allergy medicine?"

Thank you, Papa and Susan, for the delicious Edible Arrangement and Easter ballons!
