The thing about cell phone pictures is that they're so "in the moment" and capture not the MOST special times (like holiday's and ballet recitals), but rather the everyday moments that really show the fun of growing up, like snow cones on a Wednesday, and trips to the beach and park.
However, looking back at this year, Brooke had many "firsts"....first lost tooth, ride in a fire truck, baseball game, convertible Mustang ride, theater performance, rodeo, bowling, 5K charity race, waterslide, roller coaster, ice skating, and wedding.
Dear Brooke,
You're a rockstar! You are 42.5 inches tall and weigh 37 pounds, lost two teeth before your 5th birthday, and are perfectly beautiful. You dislike anything remotely "princess" related or "baby-ish." Rather, you prefer to discuss super heroes and fearlessly ride your scooter. At school, you're not a fan of "boring worksheets" and would rather put together puzzles, play in "Science Center," and chase the boys. On "stay home days," (aka weekend mornings), we catch you sneaking chocolates and marshmallows after waking up early to watch movies with your sister. Brooke, you choose your own outfits, wear mis-matched Crocs, wish you were tall enough to ride in a booster seat, and hate to brush your hair. In fact, you beg me to cut it, but I refuse. Maddie is your idol, direct supervisor, and best friend. You generously gives kisses and strong choking neck hugs. The sweet way you mis-pronounce your W's and R's is slowly fading away. We're impressed with your new reading ability (Fox in Socks!), excitement about Kindergarten in the fall, and intense loyalty to friends and family. Even though you are quick with your temper, you demand fairness in the unfair, apologize when necessary, and don't lie easily. You are a girl that loves unconditionally.
Brookie, you make me smile...
Happy Birthday, Brooke. I love you baby.
love,
Mama

So good, I laughed and cried.
Love you guys!
Carter and I just watched it... love the music. The slide show was so sweet. The first thing Carter said when it was over was, "mom, I want to loose a tooth too!"
